  • Do I need to refill the gas tank before I return my RV?

    You must return your RV with the same fuel you picked it up with. If you fail to do so, the refueling fee is a flat rate to cover the cost of gas plus time to refuel.

  • Are toll fees really included?

    • Yes, all our units come equipped with E-Z Pass transponders
    • You don't need to bring your own.
    • Use the E-Z Pass lanes and we will cover all pay-by-plate and transponder tolls. 
    • The exception is older styel tolls that do not offer transponder or pay-by-plate options; cash-only tolls must be paid by the customer.
  • Do I need to refill the propane tank?

    No, you can return the RV with whatever amount of propane remains in the tank.

  • What’s the minimum rental period?

    There is a three-night minimum required for rental. However, special events and holiday weekends require a four-day minimum.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    31 days or more before the scheduled trip: You will receive a full reservation deposit refund.

    • 30 - 22 days before the scheduled trip: There is no deposit refund or further responsibility.
    • 21 days – 7 days before the scheduled trip: You are responsible for 50% of the trip cost.
    • 6 days – day of the scheduled trip: You are responsible for the entire trip cost.
    • No call/no show: You are responsible for the entire trip cost.
    • Existing bookings may shift dates one time based on RV availability. Our RVs are booked months in advance, and date shifts are not guaranteed.
  • How new are the RVs that I would rent?

    All of our RVs are either current-year or next year’s models.

  • Do I need a CDL or a special license to drive an RV?

    No, you do not need a CDL or special license. However, you must meet the following requirements to rent from Certified On-Site RV Service:


    Be at least 25 years old.

    Possess a valid driver’s license (U.S. or international).

  • I am from out of the country; what do I need?

    You will need an international driver’s license from your home country.

  • How far in advance should I book my trip?

    Our RVs are reserved months in advance, so we recommend booking your trip as soon as you know your dates.

  • What if I don’t know anything about using an RV?

    When you come to pick up your RV, Connecticut RV Rentals will give you a complete orientation. We will demonstrate how to use all features and answer any questions you may have. We will also provide links to short instructional videos in case you need a refresher once you have reached your destination.

  • Are there any mileage fees?

    The rental includes 100 miles per night. The miles are bankable, so if you travel 50 miles one day, you still have 50 miles to use on one of the other days of your trip.

  • How do I reserve an RV?

  • When are payments due?

    Your reservation deposit is made at the time of booking and is applied to your rental balance. The deposit and remaining balance are paid on the day of pickup.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

  • Does Connecticut RV Rentals provide roadside assistance?

    Our units are current or next year, so mechanical issues are rare.

    Connecticut RV Rentals provides you with 24/7 roadside assistance to minimize disruptions or delays to your trip. You also get our mobile number for emergency questions on RV functions while away!

    Generators, TVs, appliances, etc., are not guaranteed, but they rarely fail, as our knowledgeable technical team services our units after every trip.

  • Does Connecticut RV Rentals require a deposit to rent an RV?

    All RVs require a $950 deposit to cover incidents, just like at a standard hotel. The deposit is returned to you approximately five business days after your RV is returned.

  • Should I empty the holding tanks before returning my rental?

    Please dump the holding tanks before returning your RV. If your campground doesn't have a dump station or sewer hookups, visit RV Dump Stations for a dump station near you.


    If you do not empty the tanks before returning your RV, you will be charged an additional $75.

  • Are there any travel restrictions or any places I cannot take my RV rental?

    In Connecticut, RV rentals are not allowed in the following locations:

    • Mexico
    • Alaska
    • Montreal

    The five boroughs that makeup New York City

    Across the George Washington Bridge, or 95, through NYC

    Private, gravel, dirt, or logging roads

    Beaches

    Connecticut RV Rentals reserves the right to cancel or extend an unreasonable trip, such as to Nevada in less than 22 nights or Florida in less than 7 nights.

    We do not offer one-way RV rentals.

  • Are your RVs self-contained?

    Connecticut RV Rentals' entire fleet of RVs is entirely self-contained, with kitchens and fully functional restrooms.

  • Do I need to clean my camper before I return it?

    Before each RV is rented, Connecticut RV Rentals completes a deep cleaning inside and out. Connecticut RV Rentals asks that you return your RV as close to the same condition as it was left in our facility.

    • Wipe down counters, sinks, and bathrooms.
    • Empty trash
    • Pile sheets or blankets on the bed.
    • Wash all dishes.
    • Any RV returned excessively soiled will incur a cleaning fee.
  • Are dogs allowed in RVs?

    Connecticut RV Rentals allows dogs in all of our RVs. You will be charged a one-time deep cleaning fee of $89 per dog.

    No other pets are permitted in any of our RVs.

  • Can I smoke in my RV?

    Our entire RV fleet is smoke-free. No smoking, vaping, candles, incense, or campfire smoke is permitted in any RV.


    If we discover that our smoke-free policy has been violated, additional cleaning charges will be assessed per case at a minimum of $900.

  • What happens if I get into an accident in my rental?

    Call the closest law enforcement office and have an accident report taken at the time and location of the accident. A copy of this report must be provided to Connecticut RV Rentals when the RV unit is returned.


    Connecticut RV Rentals must be contacted within 24 hours of any accident involving one of our RVs.

  • What if the rental is damaged while I have it?

    You are responsible for all interior and exterior damage to Connecticut RV Rentals during the rental period. That means you must pay for any necessary repairs, whether at fault or not. This includes but is not limited to, damages caused by another member of your rental party and acts of nature (wind, rain, earthquake, fire, flood, etc.).

  • Can I get on the roof of my rental?

    No one is allowed on the roofs of our RVs, as they do not have walk-on roofs.

  • Do you allow towing?

    None of our RVs permit towing.

  • Can I bring the RV back early?

    You can bring your rental back early, but we do not give refunds or discounts for early returns.

  • How long does propane last?

    The propane will typically last 2 weeks with typical usage, depending on the season.

  • What if I bring the RV back late?

    • Please let the office know ASAP if you think you will run late, as these RVs are back on the road the following day. If you do not have a pre-approved late return, fees will be assessed, adding up quickly.
    • Standard Return Time: 10:00 a.m.
    • Late Returns: Late fees apply if returned after 1:00 p.m. without purchasing an extra night.
    • Late Fee: Two full days’ rental rate for each day the vehicle is late.
    • Impact on Others: Late returns can disrupt the plans of the following family scheduled to use the RV.

    Please return the RV on time or communicate with the rental company if you anticipate any delays to avoid any inconvenience and additional charges.

  • How many people can fit in my RV?

    While driving the RV, you can only have as many people as there are seatbelts. However, the number of seatbelts may be less than the number of sleeping spaces. For example, if an RV has five seatbelts but sleeps seven, you can only have five people ride in the RV while it is being driven. Any extra guests will need to ride in a separate vehicle.

  • Are there any discounts available?

    Connecticut RV Rentals offers multiple discounts: repeat customer, veteran, active duty, and public servant (police, fire, or EMS) discounts are available. Ask your agent to see if anything applies.

    It does not apply to any other offers or duration discounts.

    Unit rates are discounted based on trip duration.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

    For trips booked that are 13 days or less, the following applies:

    • 31 days or more prior to the scheduled trip: A full refund of the reservation deposit will be issued. (Currently 199.00)
    • 30 days to 22 days prior to the scheduled trip: The deposit of (Currently 199.00) is non-refundable, and no further obligations will be imposed.
    • 21 days to 14 days prior to the scheduled trip: A responsibility for 50% of the trip cost is incurred. 
    • 13 days to the day of the scheduled trip: The entire cost of the trip is the responsibility of the customer.
    • No call/no show: The entire cost of the trip is the responsibility of the customer.
    • Existing booking may shift dates once, subject to RV availability. As our RVs are booked months in advance, date shifts are not guaranteed.

    For Trips with a length of 14 days or more the following applies:

    • An initial deposit of 50% of of the total trip cost is due upon booking and is non-refundable.
    • Up to and including 14 days prior to the trip: The 50% non-refundable deposit will be imposed with no further obligation.
    • 13 days to the day of the scheduled trip: The entire cost of the trip is the responsibility of the customer.
    • No call/no show: The entire cost of the trip is the responsibility of the customer.
    • Existing bookings may shift dates once, subject to RV availability. As our RVs are booked months in advance, date shifts are not guaranteed. 


  • Can I leave my car at your location while I’m gone?

    Connecticut RV Rentals offers free parking for one vehicle for the duration of your rental.

    If you would like to park more than one vehicle at our facility, it will be available for a daily rate of $7.50.

  • What fuel does the RV use, and how many MPG do they typically get?

    • Our entire fleet of RVs uses regular gasoline.
    • Our RVs get approximately 9–11 MPG.
  • What amenities do I need to reserve a campsite with my RV?

    • 30 amp electric
    • Water hookup (not required but nice to have on-site)
    • Sewer hookup (not required, but nice to have on-site)
    • Motorhomes are 24’-30’ long and 8’ wide and may have a large slide on the driver's side.
  • Does Connecticut RV Rentals provide generators for the rentals?

    Every RV in the fleet has an onboard generator that runs off of fuel from the leading RV fuel tank. You are allotted 3 hours of generator run time per day. Additional generator hours will be billed at $3.00 per hour or any portion thereof.
